Day 18/10 Adorable Little Envelopes
Loving these little envelopes – and inking around the edges makes all the difference.
Check out the YouTube video from The Paper Outpost – “How to make an envelope from a square paper with tab closure.” if you want to give them a try.
Day 17/100 Collage Tags
Four more collage tags for the junk journal project.
It took a lot of cutting and tearing before anything wanted to fit together tonight.
I decided it would be okay to just get some prep work done then all of a sudden a few pieces looked like they wanted to be paired up so, Yay! I got to play with the glue too!!
The “You & Me Mom” book was great – all round good images, paper and colors.
I also used a calendar, an old Christmas craft book and one of my favorites lately – a Greek sculpture book, which I noticed is a discard from the Calgary Public Library…meaning I’ve been carrying it around for 18 years or so! I knew it would come in handy 😏🙄
Day 16/100 Collage Tags
Finally got a little collage in tonight 🙂
All recycled materials – playing cards, calendars and old books. I used Mod Podge to glue everything down.
I’ll make a few more, add a little paint to tie everything together, punch the holes and add some yarn .
Day 15/100 Feather Stencils
Finishing off the prep work for the school project – so much easier with my helper! 😂
Day 14/100 – Photo
Sunshine today!
I drove to Kaleden to pick up some vintage books (I’ll share pics another day). Then took the pupper for a walk.
What a relief to see the sun! And it was hot! It felt like a summer day. 🙂
I did some quick feather drawings for a work project…
and after watching Treasure Books tutorial “DIY Hidden Paper Clips” On YouTube I’m going to make some of those – hopefully tomorrow.
Day 13/100 – Pocket Pages
Another Eileen Watson pocket tutorial today. Old books, gluing, inking and sewing.
I got a couple done then spent way too long fixing my fave pencil. Sort of fixed…all the while thinking I should just chuck it and do more pockets.
It’s a conundrum, I want to be productive, but I like to fix things and I tend to procrastinate.
It’s all good, two is better than nothing and I’m pretty sure if I wasn’t doing the challenge it would have been none.
Day 12/100 Day Challenge – Photo Editing
Penticton Ancestors
Photo Edit today because I was blessed to be with family!
I brought my computer with me and played around in the Sketchbook app with a couple of older pictures.
Originally I was going to add a mandala to a photo but then as I was looking through my pics I was drawn to Penticton Ancestors pic and the daisy – which is natures mandala!
I haven’t used the app much so the learning curve is steep which made bringing my ideas into fruition a challenge. It’s a fun way to create though so I think I’ll be playing more often.
Pretty happy I’ve been on track for almost 2 weeks now!
Happy Weekend!!
Day 11 of Joyful Creativity Challenge – Journal Pockets
More paper folding today.
One of the Many things I like about the junk journal idea is being able to incorporate anything and everything into it.
One way to keep little bits and pieces of memorabilia like movie stubs, receipts or notes tucked in is with pockets.
I made a few tonight and what I Love about this pattern is you can use any size paper!
Check out Eileen Watson’s YouTube video Junk Journal folded pocket tutorial if you’d like to try it out. Thanks Eileen!

Day 10/100 :)

My plans to get the sewing machine ready to go didn’t happen so I played with “sketchbook” app on the computer.
This is something I want to play with more often!!
I just used the basics today and now it’s very late so I am hitting the hay!
